2008 Findleton El Dorado Chardonnay

 Double Gold Winner!

The Findleton Estate and Vineyard Chardonnay, featuring Pamela’s artwork “Women of the Vines,”  is 100% Chardonnay from GMB Vineyard. The Chardonnay grapes were hand picked, whole cluster pressed and 100% barrel fermented in 10% new oak and aged for 8 months on its lees. Weekly batonage (lees stirring) was performed for the first two months of aging and the wine was allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation to develop increased textural components and secondary aromas. The resulting wine is golden yellow-green and displays a nice balance of primary fruit and lees attributes with layers of honeysuckle, almond, pear, and lime fragrances over a background of brioche, and nuances of vanilla and butter. The palate is full-bodied and viscous with citrus flavors and hints of spice followed by a long, slightly nutty finish.
