The Findleton Estate and Winery Reserve Syrah is a barrel selection of the most structured and complex Syrahs of 2004. The grapes were hand-picked, fermented with 30% whole berries, and cofermented with 5% Viognier to encourage co-pigmentation and color stability. The wine was aged in a combination of new and neutral oak for 18 months. The final blend combined small lots of two vineyards within El Dorado County, contributing to the overall charm and depth. This is a rich and complex Syrah which exhibits seductive aromas of ripe blackberry, chocolate, anise, white pepper, and tobacco. The palate is medium bodied and reveals layers of dark red fruits, spice, dried herbs, and
silky tannins.
