The Findleton Estate and Vineyard Red Wine “Picasso,” named after Pamela’s painting “Picasso Bottles”, is a barrel selection from our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Stonehaven Vineyard and Syrah from Marchini Vineyard. The grapes were hand picked, destemmed and fermented using 80% whole berries. The Syrah was co-fermented with 5% Viognier to enhance color and complexity. The wine was aged in a combination of new and neutral oak for 18 months. Deep red-purple, this rich, and complex blend is fruit forward with dark plum and red berry flavors accented by woodsmoke and baking spices. The structure is medium bodied with silky, integrated tannins. The “Picasso” wine is very well balanced, approachable, smooth, and perfect to enjoy now.
