Pamela Findleton’s artwork of Poor Red’s Bar-B-Q, one of El Dorado’s most historic buildings, is featured as the label for the Findleton Estate Red Wine “Poor Red.” The 2006 Poor Red wine is a blend of Stonehaven Cabernet Sauvignon and Marchini Syrah. The grapes were hand picked and fermented using 100% whole berries to obtain optimal fruit aromas while extracting fewer tannins. The wine was aged in predominately neutral oak for 14 months to retain fruit as the primary attribute. Our Poor Red displays fruit forward aromas of boysenberry jam, candied cherries, and banana with hints of amaretto and dried fruit. The structure is light bodied with a red berry finish.
