The Findleton Estate Red Wine “Parrothead Red” is a special blend produced as a tribute to Garrett Wilkins and band “The Parrotheads.” The label features Pamela Findleton’s painting of lead vocalist Garrett Wilkins. Parrothead Red is a non-conventional blend of 50% Zinfandel and 50% Barbara. The grapes are fermented separately allowing us the opportunity to create the best possible blend from a selection of barrels from each variety. The wine is ruby-red in color, with a deep, fruit-forward bouquet of boysenberry jam, orange zest, and vanilla bean, accented with subtle hints of black pepper and woodsmoke. The pallet is full and juicy with ripe berry flavors, hickory smoke, pepper, and a spicy finish.
