FINDLETON ESTATE WINERY
          January Wine Club Release

FINDLETON ESTATE WINERY OCTOBER WINE CLUB:

2013 CHARDONNAY  $22.00

Gold Medal Winner at the El Dorado County Competition, this Chardonnay is light gold in color and has layers of apple, pear, orange blossoms, and a citrus finish.  Soft oak and subtle butter complete this award winning Chardonnay, leaving you with a long finish.  Pair with fish, fresh seafood and curries.

2012 KEVIN’S VINEYARD ESTATE PINOT NOIR  $39.00

Cooler weather, chalky volcanic soils, and the creek-side location of “Kevin’s Vineyard” create a distinctly Burgundian style Pinot noir.  Our 2012 Pinot was aged in 25% new French Oak for 9 months and left on the lees.  Weekly stirring increased body and resulted in a silky mouth feel with an intense black cherry mid-palette and a long, lingering finish.  As always, our Pinot is unfined and unfiltered to preserve the delicate nature of this varietal.  The winemaker suggests pairing the Pinot with holiday favorites like smoked ham, turkey and prime rib.  Happy New Year!

2012 MOURVEDRE  $22.00

It’s no wonder our 2012 Mourvedre won Double Gold at the El Dorado and Amador County Wine Competition this past year!  Proudly wearing Pamela Findleton’s label, “Waiting” that is exactly what this wine has done.  Mourvedre is a late ripening wine originally from the Rhone Region of France.  It waited patiently in Marchini Vineyards at 1400 ft elevation until perfectly ripe.  It was then hand-picked and aged in 30% New French Oak for 18 months.  Its deep red fruit reveals creamy layers of black cherry, cassis, cocoa and vanilla.  We recommend pairing with Gourmet Sausages, Stuffed Mushrooms, Savory Tartlets, and Savory Crepes.

2012 CABERNET FRANC  $26.00

2012 was a phenomenal vintage year for us and is revealed in this perfectly ripe balanced wine from G&B Vineyards.  Aged in 25% New French Oak for 18 months our 2012 Cab Franc is a beast!  Full bodied and lush mouth-feel, it shows nuances of ripe, wild strawberries and subdued pepper.  Soft lingering tannins finish the experience of this amazing wine.  Pair with Osso Bucco, Roast Beef, and other hearty comfort foods.
