FINDLETON ESTATE WINERY
January Wine Club Release
FINDLETON ESTATE WINERY - JANUARY WINE CLUB:
2014 Viognier $29.00 (retail)
Our 2014 Viognier from Honeychurch Vineyards in Amador County is a soft golden color with a mixed flower bouquet and golden pineapple, subtle honey, and melon on the palette. Wine maker, Tom Findleton, used New French Oak staves during fermentation to create structure and soft tannins. The wine spent a short rotation in 25% New French Oak and then went into neutral oak barrels for the rest of aging. This creamy, full Viognier is a great accompaniment to spicy ethnic foods like Indian, Thai, Sushi and Cajun Gumbo.
2013 Estate Grown Pinot noir $39.00 (retail)
Happy New Year! Our 2013 Pinot noir from Kevin's Vineyard was pressed off the skins early for a light and delicate taste. It is ligh bodied with a light ruby color, and has a bouquet of cherry, vanilla, and peated heather. Aged in 25% New French Oak for 14 months it shows undertones of rhubarb, wild strawberry, nutmeg and toasted campfire marshmallow. Pinot noir is a wonderful wine to pair with holiday favorites like Smoked Ham.
2013 Hangman's Red Blend $24.00 (retail)
Hangman's Red is an Italian Blend of 65% Sierra Foothill Zinfandel and 35% Sierra Foothill Barbera. It is a dark burgandy color and has aromas of oak, black cherry cola, and spice. With its sultry beginning, intense mid-pallete and bright finish, fans have described this wine as "Zin in the front & Barbera on the back!" It is medium-full in body and has nice acidity making it a food friendly wine. Try it with a hearty pasta or ribeye steak.
2013 Fin Zin Zinfandel $22.00 (retail)
Prepare to travel down the Silk Road with our new Zinfandel with a twist! 40% Cooper Vineyard Zin, 40% Stonehaven Zin and 20% Cooper Vineyard Alicante Bouschetl, creates a deep, rich, full bodied Zinfandel that will wow you with its bold flavors and exotic spices. Aged for 21 months in 25% New French Oak the wine is dark ruby-red in color and has a bouquet of dark berries, stone and roses, and faint tobacco and leather. On the palette, dark berries dance with spice and linger on your tongue creating a polished finish with a teaser of semi-sweet chocolate.
