FINDLETON ESTATE WINERY OCTOBER WINE CLUB:
2013 VIOGNIER (vee-own-yay) $29.00
Viognier is a French varietal grown primarily in the Rhone Region of France, and in California. Our 2013 Viognier took Double Gold, Best of Show, and Best EDC Viogier in the El Dorado County 2014 Wine Competition. The bouquet is lightly floral with crushed stone. It displays nuances of nectarine, peach, subtle apple, and finishes with a burst of citrus. Viognier pairs well with spicy foods such as Asian, Indian, Mexican, or try it with Angela and Pamela’s favorite, Spicy Sushi. Cheers!
2012 MIDNIGHT MERLOT $24.00
Our 2012 Merlot is dark in color, indicative of its name “Merle” which means Young Black Bird. This Bordeaux Classic is rich, balanced and layered with dark chocolate, black cherries, and vanilla bean. Its soft, medium bodied richness and low acidity makes it a wonderful wine to enjoy on its own as well as with skirt steak, bleu cheese burgers, and citrus pork chops.
2011 CABERNET FRANC $26.00
Call me a Cab, Franc…. I’m staying a while. After tasting this Cabernet Franc you are not going to want to put it down. We think our 2011 vintage Cab Franc is the best yet! This wine exhibits aromas of green pepper and floral undertones of lavender. Your first sip blankets the tongue with its warmth and structure, the finish is long, lingering and balanced. Try this El Dorado County favorite with a fine steak, combo pizza, or Angela’s favorite – salami and cheese.
2009 LATE HARVEST ZINFANDEL PORT $26.00
Are you ready for dessert? Well, we describe this decadent wine as “dessert in a glass.” Perfect for the holiday season, our Port has a rich, velvety mouth feel with nuances of raspberry jam, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts… definitely ingredients to satisfy your sweet tooth.
